Health Advisory Council
The health of our children does not depend on major medical breakthroughs, but rather on the everyday practice of good health habits. Establishing healthy behaviors, during childhood is more effective than trying to change unhealthy behaviors during adulthood.
Shepherd ISD is committed to providing a school environment that enhances learning and development of lifelong wellness practices. The Shepherd Health and Advisory Council is gearing up to assist our schools and community help our children to be the best that they can be.

KEEP KIDS HOME WHEN SICK!!!

Students MAY NOT attend school if they have a temperature of 100 degrees or more.
They must be free of fever for 24 hours before returning to school. This is WITHOUT the use of fever reducing medications! Adhering strictly to this policy is necessary in order to reduce the spread of this and all other illnesses.

Please continue to emphasize to your children the importance of preventative measures -

  • Wash your hands or use alcohol based sanitizers.

  • Cover your cough with a tissue or elbow.

  • Stay away from people who are sick.
  • Does your child have a MEDICAL CONDITION?

Please notify your school clinic if your child has a medical condition.
Your child is at school about 40 hours a week.
We want to help you take care of your child!

Please notify the clinic staff of the following:

    • Any medical condition, injury or illness that requires care or consideration at school

    • Any serious disease such as:  Diabetes, Seizure Disorder, Hemophilia, Cancer, High Blood Pressure, Asthma, Life threatening allergy, Mental illness, etc.

    • Current medications

    • Any contagious disease or condition

     Thanks!
