Welcome to the Shepherd Primary Nurse’s corner. My name is Misti Hendrix and I’m a RN (Registered Nurse). If your child has a health condition that I need to be aware of please don't hesitate to come visit with me or contact me. Remember that your child will be spending more awake time at school than at home. Please browse my website, there are forms you can download and print such as medication forms, etc. Also there are informational web links as well.
Please remember Shepherd ISD policy on students who are sick: Shepherd ISD has specific directions from the Texas Department of State Health Services regarding illnesses.
Students that have a temperature of 100 degrees or more, should NOT COME to school.
STUDENTS MAY NOT RETURN TO SCHOOOL UNTIL THEY ARE FEVER FREE FOR 24 HOURS. (WITHOUT the use of fever reducing medications.)
Fever reducers such as Tylenol, Ibuprofen, and Aleve (and cold/flu medicines which contain these ingredients) only reduce the fever and make the child “feel better” but does not reduce the contagious nature of the illness.
